Vogue 1922 meets Vogue 2009

I was given "100 years of fashion illustration" by Cally Blackman not long ago and I have been reading it over and over since then. Even though I prefer fashion photography, illustation is beautiful and as Blackman says : " Illustrators have the power to select or emphasize a particular feature; to prioritize figure over garment, or garment over figure; to translate a mood, an atmosphere, with humour or emotion, while their ability to communicate a designer's ideas has often led to a close working relationship. And of course they have the ability to invent."

Anyway, I had this black and white illustration in my head which was drawn in 1922 by Helen Dryden, when I saw British Vogue March 2009 spread with Lara Stone, and I saw a bizarre connection in between both.
